type systems

Here are the two type systems I was exploring for my resume’s CSS styling. For this particular project, I’m aiming for a professional yet bubbly aesthetic.

Of my two combinations, I am partial to my first one, with Josefin Sans and IBM Plex Serif. As compared to my second combination, I think using a sans serif font as my header font conveys a more modern, innovative feeling that matches my design sensibility.

I chose Josefin specifically because it is a clean font with a unique x-height/ascenderline proportion (as compared to a sans serif with a higher x-height, such as Helvetica). IBM Plex Serif is a very legible and professional font, and it contrasts well against Josefin.

As for color choices, I wanted to incorporate some sort of jewel tone, and I really liked the plum purple shade for use in the headers. The bodycopy is a dark shade of grey to contrast with the dark value of the other text.
