more responsive experiences

In my opinion, the new Edinboro.edu site is very well successful in terms of its responsivity. When scaled down, the site maintains its visual impact extremely well; there aren’t major changes between the web and tablet versions (besides text/image scale, and the banner video becomes a static image). The mobile viewport changes from a multi-column site into an organized, one-column format without any losses in its balance or hierarchy. There is less negative space on the site, but that is to be expected at such a small scale. Overall, all of the elements maintain their importance, which I appreciate.

On the other hand, the Tears for Fears website is not as responsive. Most elements on the page scale horizontally in different viewports, but the text and colored divider blocks do not change vertical scale, which creates a clunky, pinched look in the mobile view. The only truly “responsive” change is with the header image. Even then, there isn’t as much consideration directed towards the vertical size of the image; at the mobile scale it takes up the entire screen above the fold. (I love the band, but that site is so lackluster )-: )
